Join Dr. Lucy Jones in conversation with Mary Nichols as they discuss the role of science in policy-making at the first Intersection Lunch presented by the Dr. Lucy Jones Center for Science and Society.
Dr. Jones has made a career of communicating science to those who can use it to strengthen our communities, and Congressman Schiff is an elected official who has used the science from the US Geological Survey, Caltech, and other sources to help shape domestic policy. Representing California’s 28th District, Congressman Schiff has led the effort to fully fund an Earthquake Early Warning system for California and the US West Coast.
Attendees will have a chance to hear the conversation and ask questions on this topic of these two local leaders, as well as engage in discussion with other attendees as part of the 90-minute program.
