Part of the work of the Center is creating and responding to media opportunities, both traditional and online. The Center has ~11,000 Twitter followers, and Dr. Jones engaged with over 160,000 Twitter followers, sharing the strategically crafted Center posts with her followers to help them understand the science of disasters and surrounding data and facts. She continues to respond to media requests about significant geologic events with hundreds of interviews, and occasionally writes editorials. Selected highlights in 2023-24 include:
