MUSIC FOR SOCIAL ACTION | JULY
Makiko Hirata & Shawn Kirchner

On Wednesday July 20th, our Dialogue's theme was music for social action. Bridging the first two dialogues discussing extinction and hope, this dialogue was centered on inspiring the use of this information in the creation of music.

Tempo participant, Shawn Kirchner discussed how music has functioned in previous social movements, specifically in the civil rights movement.

In addition, Tempo participant, Makiko Hirata presented the research of human's neurological and emotional response to music.
